Get out your calendars and
put a big star on the 8th of July, a Sunday, to
remind you to attend the Ibex
Broken Oar bike excursion.
This will be a “club” ride, which means that we will be making
the trip as a group so if you haven’t been riding lately or are
not in the shape you hope to be in by ski season, you will still
be able to keep up. This is not a “sign up” event. Just show
and go.
The trip starts
in Palatine, and
winds approximately 18 miles (on county roads) to the
Broken Oar Bar and Grill, in
Port Barrington, IL (on the Fox River). For those of you who
want to do a shorter version, you can meet us at the Cuba Marsh
Forrest Preserve (corner of Cuba and Ela Roads) which is about
our halfway point (note: there is a restroom here).
The destination is a quaint bar on the Fox River, that attracts
bikers, of the motorcycle type, pedal type, boaters, and various
car aficionados. The beer is cold, the food good, band will be
loud or at least tuning up, outside with your friends…..what
more could you ask for on a Summer Sunday afternoon.
